What is 2-MPPP
2-methyl-1-phenyl-3-(piperidin-1-yl)propan-1-one is a compound structurally derived from 2-Aminopropan-1-one in which the Nitrogen is connected to the Carbon in the 3-position. The physiological and toxicological properties of this compound have not been studied.
2-methyl-1-phenyl-3-(piperidin-1-yl)propan-1-one may be utilised by researchers who wish to use it as a reference sample for their Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR) or Nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) analysis catalogues.
For long term storage, we suggest that 2-methyl-1-phenyl-3-(piperidin-1-yl)propan-1-one be stored at -20°C. It should be stable for at least two years.
2-methyl-1-phenyl-3-(piperidin-1-yl)propan-1-one is supplied as a white crystalline solid. 2-methyl-1-phenyl-3-(piperidin-1-yl)propan-1-one is soluble in organic solvents such as methanol, DMSO, and dichloromethane (DCM), which should be purged with an inert gas. The solubility of 2-methyl-1-phenyl-3-(piperidin-1-yl)propan-1-one in ethanol and DMF is about 22 mg/ml and approximately 15 mg/ml in DMSO.
Further dilutions of the stock solution into aqueous buffers or isotonic saline should be made prior to performing experiments. Ensure that the residual amount of organic solvent is insignificant, since organic solvents may have physiological effects at low concentrations. Organic solvent-free aqueous solutions 2-methyl-1-phenyl-3-(piperidin-1-yl)propan-1-one can be prepared by directly dissolving the crystalline solid in aqueous buffers. The solubility 2-methyl-1-phenyl-3-(piperidin-1-yl)propan-1-one in PBS, pH 6.4, is approximately 11 mg/ml. We do not recommend storing the aqueous solution for more than one day.
